Description
A mallard duckling that’s almost all yellow is usually showing a genetic color variation — most often a light‑phase mutation or domestic‑mallard ancestry. Mallard ducklings normally have dark brown/black stripes with only a yellow belly, so an all‑yellow chick is not typical for a pure wild mallard.
